The Hazards of Alcohol Abuse
Each year, thousands o men and women suffer from the effects of alcohol abuse. Since it is legal, many people think it is ok to drink a lot and well “have fun”, when in reality they are being exposed to undesirable consequences.
Alcohol poisoning is a result of drinking more alcohol than the body can process. This condition can have serious effects on your health and in some cases it can even lead to death. This is not something to be taken lightly.
Poisoning from alcohol differs greatly from passing out, with poisoning, your brain enters a state of coma, and despite the hardest efforts of someone to wake you up, they wouldn’t have any success.
This comatose state is very dangerous, and the more time you spend on it, the higher will be the dangers in your body and the chances of ending up dead.
We all know that there are people who have a higher risk to end up in this state, and we have to be informative. Young people, especially teenagers, find it “cool” to drink a lot, and the engage into this without knowing about these types of consequences, acting out of peer pressure.
Alcoholics also have a great danger of ending up dead. Since they often drink, the body develops a “resistance” to the symptoms of being drunk. So they keep drinking without being able to measure the amounts of alcohol in the blood. Small children can also end up in this problem out of curiosity.
Unfortunately, alcohol poisoning is very common, with over 50,000 cases in America each year, and at least one death from poisoning each week. Scary? Yes, and the worst of all is that there is little information about it.
These numbers to many people reflect very well the current state of “legal drugs”, which are openly sold and take away as many lives as other types of “illegal drugs”.
The best way to avoid a problem of this kind is to have control over your alcohol intake, or even better - give up drinking alcoholic drinks.
